Education: BS-MS(Major: Materials Science Minor: Physics), Indian Institute of Science, 2021
Bio: Before joining UConn, Taradutt earned his BS-MS degree at IISc Bangalore, majoring in materials science with a minor in physics. During his time in Bangalore, he had the opportunity to work briefly at NTU Singapore, focusing on green LEDs based on perovskite nanocrystals. However, he soon discovered his strong inclination towards theoretical and computational modeling. To pursue this interest, he enrolled in various courses covering computational physics, computer science, and numerical methods, honing his coding skills along the way.
Now, for his PhD, Taradutt is actively delving into the world of first principles modeling, particularly in the study of defects in 2D materials. His research aims to unlock their potential applications in optoelectronics and explores their relevance in the realm of photonic qubits.
